FormaViva news and events

What's new...
FormaViva are embarking on a process of building better relationships with our customers through an exciting new communication strategy. Soon we'll be able to connect via email and the website ensuring a two way flow of information aimed at ensuring that each customer that visits a FormaViva store encounters the "Ultimate Shopping Experience". What this cross sensory experience looks, feels and sounds like is something we hope to glean in our dialogue with you the customer. Join the FormaViva evolution! We value your input!

The times they are a changing...
Our current CEO Ian Kur is moving on and there's no doubt our customers and the team at FormaViva will miss his unique style of management. We wish him well as he sets his sights on new challenges. Good luck Ian. Taking up the helm is Samantha (Sam) Robinson who has many years' of retail experience within the group. Her career within Tigers Eye has seen her successfully tackle a number of challenging issues with creativity and determination and we look forward to a new era of FormaViva under her leadership.

A little more about Sam...
This GM is one dynamo - a high-energy, task-driven retailer who consistently delivers results. Prior to joining FormaViva, Sam was the Operations and Logistics Executive for the Barbados operation of Tigers Eye. She is a specialist in manpower planning, performance management and inventory control. A skilled and incisive decision maker, Sam is accustomed to working in a highly pressurised trading environment and ensuring that both customers and staff enjoy optimum conditions. Taking on an established organisation has its challenges and, for this reason, we know Sam comes with all the skills and strategies required.

Twinkle toes…
Forma Viva is a proud sponsor of the South African representative team from the STEPS School of Dance. The team competes at the World Dance Championships in Riesa, Germany in December. The competition showcases tap dance and show dance with participants from over 50 countries competing.

This is the only official world championships and is recognised as the “Olympics of Dance”. Our nominee and shining star from the team is nine year old Lethabo Maboa. Her specialty is tap dance and we are confident of her success.

All at Forma Viva wish her and the team every success, but most importantly to enjoy and grow from the experience!

Gold stars…
Our entire store management team recently completed the internationally associated “Gold Star” training programme. The teams now have an even higher level of competence to service your every need. Just another way we’re making sure that your Forma Viva shopping experience is so much more enjoyable!

Shining stars…
Forma Viva recently celebrated their annual award dinners to reward and acknowledge all our shining stars. Particular mention must go to Ismail Paruk, our watch technician at the Eastgate store. Ismail received the Executive Award - 2009 for his outstanding service and dedication to the group and all our customers. For well over a decade, Ismail has been watching over this important aspect of our service. Many of you will have experienced his care and dedication - he’s another Forma Viva personality that we believe embodies our culture of the “Forma Viva experience”!
